My name is Maria Aybar, and I am the Director of Operations and helped found the Latinx Community Center for Empowerment (LCCE). A nonprofit seeking to empower the Latinx Community through education to promote their socioeconomic development. Besides my role directing some of our programs, I am also a board member for Do It Yourself (DIY) Lowell, Middlesex Community College Alumni Board, the Greely Peace Scholars at UMASS Lowell, and the Community Development Block Grant Funding Advisory Committee.
Mi nombre es MarĆa Aybar, y soy la Directors de Operaciones y ayudĆ© a fundar el Centro de Empoderamiento de la Comunidad Latinx (LCCE, por sus siglas en inglĆ©s). Una organizaciĆ³n sin fines de lucro que busca empoderar a la comunidad Latinx a travĆ©s de la educaciĆ³n para promover su desarrollo socioeconĆ³mico. AdemĆ”s de mi papel en la direcciĆ³n de algunos de nuestros programas, tambiĆ©n soy miembro de la junta directiva de Do It Yourself (DIY) Lowell, la Junta de Antiguos Alumnos del Middlesex Community College, los Becarios de Paz Greely en UMASS Lowell y el ComitĆ© Asesor de Subvenciones para el Desarrollo Comunitario.

For me, Hispanic Heritage Month means a time to showcase our traditions and values, and
an opportunity to demonstrate that together we are stronger and will continue to contribute
to the development of this country that has adopted us, our home countries that saw us born,
and our families who inspire us to move forward.
